POST-SURGICAL SPINE & JOINT RECONSTRUCTION

POST-SURGICAL SPINE & JOINT RECONSTRUCTION

Following surgical procedures, patients are often referred to our physical therapists to aid in their recovery process and regain strength, function, and mobility. Our highly skilled therapists offer personalized and evidence-based treatment sessions, focusing on facilitating the patient’s return to daily activities, work, recreational pursuits, and even competitive sports.

The rehabilitation process is tailored to the specific injury and surgery performed. We assist patients in recovering from various orthopedic post-operative procedures, including joint replacements for the knee, hip, and shoulder, reconstruction of major knee ligaments (ACL, MCL, PCL, LCL), arthroscopic knee surgeries (e.g., meniscectomies, meniscal repairs), ligament and tendon repairs (including Achilles tendon), arthroscopic hip surgeries (such as labral repairs), nerve releases (e.g., cubital tunnel, radial tunnel, carpal tunnel, tarsal tunnel), neck and back surgeries (e.g., fusions, laminectomy, decompression, discectomy), nerve compression release, bone or joint fusion (arthrodesis), tendon transfers, surgical fixation of fractures (including open reduction and internal fixation), and shoulder post-surgical recovery for conditions like rotator cuff tears, labral tears, SLAP tears, and arthroscopy.

To achieve the goal of restoring movement and reducing pain, swelling, and stiffness, our therapists employ various therapeutic techniques, which may include:

– Manual therapy

– Soft tissue and/or joint mobilization

– Muscle energy techniques

– Gait and balance training

– Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) for electrical muscle and nerve stimulation

– Therapeutic exercises and functional strength training

– Ultrasound therapy

– Functional re-education

– Rehabilitative exercises targeting strength, endurance, motion, balance, and coordination

We are committed to supporting patients throughout their recovery journey, providing individualized care to optimize their healing and enhance their overall quality of life.
